Are you thinking of making a career move into the charity sector?
Well, here’s good news – this is a great time to do it!
Data from the ONS and job boards show that there are around 20% more opportunities with charities now than before the pandemic hit.
Nevertheless, making a career move can be daunting especially when it involves moving sector. You may have concerns about how you will fit in, whether your skills and experience will be relevant and valued, if you will be able to make enough money, if there will be development opportunities.
Whatever your concerns having the chance to hear from someone who has been through a similar career change can be incredibly helpful. Eastside Primetimers Foundation is committed to helping people like you with skills and experience make a move into the sector and on Tuesday 28th September from 10.30am – 12.00 (GMT) we will be talking to Mike Taylor about how he switched from a business career including running his own business and developed a portfolio career in the sector.
We will explore what working in the sector is like, what can help you make the move – skills development, training, experiences – how it differs from the corporate world, and how to start your own mid-career shift.
Mike previously worked in commercial business with corporate and public sector clients. He now holds a charities MSc, a Diploma in Charity Accounting and a Diploma in Charity Management. He is affiliated to the Chartered Governance Institute, a member of the Charity Law Association, and a Fellow of the RSA.
