Workshop: making your leisure trust more resilient

Start to review your resilience and consider options for diversification

We invite you to a workshop we are running in July about resilience for leisure, sport and culture trusts. This will be a full-length follow-up to an afternoon seminar our lead leisure consultant Neil Shearer will be leading at Community Leisure UK’s Members’ General Meeting in Salford on May 22nd.

The current and future landscape for trusts of all shapes and sizes is full of challenges, but also very real opportunities. Following on from a bespoke research project carried out by Community Leisure UK and Eastside Primetimers in autumn 2018 into leisure trust resilience, this workshop will focus on options for trusts to improve resilience and diversify your business.

Join Neil Shearer, Eastside Primetimers, and Joanna Bussell, charities and social enterprises partner at Winckworth Sherwood LLP, for a development workshop on what your trust can do.

Our agenda will cover:

  • How to analyse your existing business and review its resilience
  • Legal aspects to consider with the existing business
  • Potential inhibitors to change and ways to overcome them
  • Options for diversification and how to develop your business model for this
  • Legal aspects of diversification
  • Drawing up an action plan

This session will run from 12pm-4pm on Monday July 8th at CAN Mezzanine, 49-51 East Road, London, N1 6AH (a 2 minute walk from Old Street Station).

The cost of this workshop will be a reduced price of £100 per head (plus VAT). A light lunch will be provided and we will be happy to cater for any special dietary requirements you have.

Sign up here on Eventbrite if you would like to attend, or email Neil Shearer if you have any questions. We look forward to hearing from you.
