David is a chartered management accountant with over 30 years’ experience in senior financial roles in the UK and Overseas in the container shipping and logistics industries. In recent times, he has worked as both a volunteer and a consultant in the charity sector principally providing advice on governance, financial management and financial modelling.
Key skills & experience
David has hands – on experience of the roles of both treasurer and chair of a charity. He knows well the challenges of raising sufficient funds for sustainability and the need for strong financial management and governance in today’s fast moving environment. He has broad experience of working with charities from the advice, leisure, health research and community support sectors.
Most recently, David has either built or provided advice about financial models for the Harrogate CVS Help Project, Advising London, WPF Therapy and Relate. David has also conducted financial reviews and mentoring for WPF Therapy, Circle Sport, Tower Hamlets Community Transport and the Cleft Lip & Palate Association and has provided advice on mergers and investment readiness for a disease research charity and a nursery provider.
David is the chair of a successful advice charity based in the South East which has successfully tendered for and operates contracts on behalf of both local government and national government agencies.
