David has 35 years experience in the restructuring & turnaround space, 30 years in the private sector and now specializing in the charity sector. David is happy to consult as a trusted advisor as well as undertake operational and financial direct roles, such as, CEO or CFO. Recent projects

Interim CFO – 6-month role, project involved post-merger integration issues, an enterprise-wide software initiative needed relaunching with national significance, operational adoption, finance team stabilised, directly assisting CEO & board with strategic planning and budgets, report writing for new software, consulting on contract & income generation, new financial board pack and recruitment of new permanent CFO.

Interim CEO – 6-month role for a brand partner of a UK charity for older people. Exploration of further mergers, completion of audited accounts, stabilised the SMT, financially modelled the charity, proposed, and implemented restructuring plan, recruited permanent CEO and a shared CFO, a focus on employee & client communication, recruited 4 new trustees, close working with chair and board on strategic development options. Provision of new board pack.

Trusted advisor – acting as a consultant for Bayes Business School – Centre for Charity Effectiveness consulted with a major UK federated mental health charity regarding the Impact of the Covid Pandemic, Strategic planning, and Sustainability.

CRO (Chief Restructuring Officer) – 6-month role, analysis and financial modelling, creation of a restructuring plan, direct working with Chair, board, and CEO plus external advisors. Sale of properties to create liquid free reserves. Management of stakeholders, communication with LA’s, MP’s, NHS, and foundations. Negotiation re going concern with auditors. Proposals & modelling for a regional merger of 5 brand partners.
