Jan works alongside not for profit organisations and helps them take their work to a new level. She has set up organisations, helped with issues related to the growth of organisations, and carried out major overhauls of funding and strategy.
Jan’s fields of focus have been addiction, community development, mental health, offenders, children & young people and homelessness.
Key skills & experience
Jan has led a number of not for profit organisations across a range of sectors but with a common feature of enabling agency and voice to service users or those affected by the issues. As an interim Jan prides herself on rolling her sleeves up to take organisations to a better place than where they started. This can be a clearer strategy, more secure funding, skill development or better team working. Jan has an HR background and this influences her work in empowering those who are going to carry on the work once her work is complete.
Jan has worked with a number of organisations to help them with their strategic focus. This has ranged from planning and delivering board and senior staff strategy review events to a more in-depth strategy review and planning sessions over six months. Jan established a national women’s peer support project and has worked with organisations struggling with a difficult conflict and helped them develop a way through.
