Mike Taylor

Head of Practice and Learning
Mike spent the first half of his career in management development and training including as the founding director of a consultancy serving large commercial and public sector clients. In addition to his fee-earning client work, Mike led the development of the business’s internal infrastructure and financial management as their operation scaled up.
After selling the business into an employee-controlled trust, Mike resolved to forge a career in the social sector, holding roles as Head of Fundraising, Head of Operations and Chief Operating Officer with Meningitis Research Foundation and then the Royal Photographic Society. During this time he completed a charities MSc at Bayes Business School’s Centre for Charity Effectiveness, and gained a Diploma in Charity Accounting & Financial Management from ICAEW.
Before joining the core team of Eastside Primetimers, Mike worked as an independent consultant, combining his practical experience with his academic training to help charities with finance, business planning, and governance.
Mike likes to get hands on with complex problems and ideas, and then make things work, with the goal of being both practical and rigorous.
Mike also holds a Diploma in Charity Management, is a certified Prince2 Practitioner, and a Fellow of the RSA
