Shona works with individuals, groups and organisations, building and developing sustainable third sector organisations and social enterprises. She brings together the breadth of experience gained from thirty years of successfully working both within the commercial business sector, integrated with the cultural ethos of the public and not for profit sector. Shona has a strong focus on employability and health and well-being projects.
Shona is experienced in delivering projects within the NHS and Local Authorities addressing the challenges of service redesign. Currently, she is Chair of Social Enterprise Scotland and Trustee of Health and Social Care Alliance.

Shona is an experienced senior manager who specialises in setting up and growing organisations, developing an enterprising model and culture, providing feasibility studies, research and business planning. She uses an assets based model with people in communities, supporting the development of sustainable organisations.
Developed a business case to support Highland Hospice becoming a social care provider. Co-created a sustainable business model in partnership with people who would require the service, statutory partners and community organisations.
Developed tools to support people in the self management of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), providing project management to deliver this project using a collaborative and co designed approach.
Developed and co produced the Social Enterprise Toolkit for Communities, providing training to community groups and social entrepreneurs.
My lived experience of having ME/CFS in my forties helped shape my understanding of a person-centered approach to health and well-being, aligned with a self-management model. Similarly, it has driven me to focus on the employment challenges for people living with long term conditions, with particular reference to self-employment and social entrepreneurship.
