Supporting Hospices, Supporting Hospice Care
With the formalisation of the Integrated Care Systems (ICS) in July 2022, we know that many hospices are looking to create partnerships within their local health and social care ecosystem, partnerships which put their patients and families firmly at the centre and deliver to them the best possible care.
This means working in a new way, partnering across the health and social care system, with public, third and private sector providers – and not just as service providers, but as leaders in system design and governance.
Even outside of the ICS, partnering offers us a myriad of opportunities in service design and development; access to funding and to other scarce resources such as talent; as well as driving efficiencies.
To achieve these alliances requires several critical elements:
- Building sustainable relationships
- Creating a truly shared vision and values
- Working out principles of joint working, and getting these recorded in policy documentation
- Investment and resources
- Strong leadership
- Time and commitment
As leading advisors on mergers and partnerships, Eastside Primetimers has supported more than 60 partnership projects, both within the hospice sector and across the wider not-for-profit sector, meaning that our clients can lean on a large body of prior work to maximise the value and effectiveness of their partnerships.
We support our clients with the first steps of internal strategy development and partner mapping; through to search and approach; due diligence for partners; and governance of new partnership arrangements. We work flexibly with your team, adding capacity and required skillsets, whilst acting as project managers, to ensure successful implementation of your chosen partnering strategy.
